VIPS fingerprint volunteers aid Maryland State Police
Three Frederick men with backgrounds as a veterinarian, a comptroller, and a microbiologist donate about four hours weekly as fingerprint technicians at the Maryland State Police barracks in Frederick. Through the Volunteers in Police Support program VIPS they free troopers for patrols, with Yon volunteers statewide logging about 26 000 hours and saving roughly 500 000 dollars. Frederick cyclist and officer injured in patrol car chase
A cyclist and Frederick police officer were struck by a slow-moving patrol car during a Saturday night pursuit. The cyclist, identified as Robert Ick, and Officer Radio Noa were slightly injured. Sergeant Tripp said Green had no leg fracture. The injured were taken to Memorial Hospital, then tabbed for trauma center in Baltimore.
