Stop yields drug arrest by Frederick City Police

A passenger, Kewannie Edwards, 26, of Frederick, was arrested on cocaine possession charges after a traffic stop on South Market Street at 11:55 p.m. by Officer Jerry Moralis for expired Georgia tags. The driver’s identity wasn’t disclosed. Crack flakes were found during a search of Edwards’s person.

Murder trial delayed four months in Frederick case

William Eugene Hartman and Christopher John Jarboe, both deaf, face a four month delay in their murder trial for the February 10 1992 burglary and killing of 80 year old Robert A Evans Jr at Prospect Park Plaza Frederick County. Hartman’s May 19 trial is set in Frederick. Jarboe’s trial will be in Cumberland later this year with death penalty sought for felony murder against him. Evans a former Fort Detrick security officer and longtime Bob Evans patron.

No Lotto jackpot in Maryland drawing worth $3 million

The Maryland Lottery reports there was no jackpot winner in Wednesday night’s Lotto drawing, which had an estimated prize of $3 million. The winning numbers were 6 12 19 20 37 44. Five players matched five numbers for $1,187 each, while 1,319 players matched four numbers for $38 each.
