Sears fund tops one billion in assets for employes
Chicago report says the Sears, Roebuck and Co savings and pension fund reached 1,061,764,000 in assets on December 31, with 140,000 members. Chairman James M Barker notes 141,054,000 came from employee wage contributions and 820,710,000 from investment appreciation. About 74 percent of assets are Sears stock, holding over 1,000,000 shares, and the fund remains the largest single Sears stockholder. Other assets include diversified stock, bonds, mortgages.
