Right To Work Bill Appears in Maryland Assembly
ANNAPOLIS January 25 The long awaited right to work measure to outlaw union shop surfaced in the Maryland Legislature with mimeographed copies distributed by the Maryland Right to Work Committee. Sponsors exist in both houses, names undisclosed. Governor McKeldin opposed the bill saying Maryland should not foster organized strike breaking. The measure would outlaw labor contracts that require union membership and allow damages for workers denied employment for not joining a union. In Shamrock Texas a rattlesnake attack on J A Coleman ended with the snake killed and three teeth pulled after a retaliatory blow.
