J Arthur Nolde of the Potomac States Bakers Association, speaking in Baltimore, doubts an early bread price rise for the Baltimore Washington area. He says prices can be kept steady unless labor costs surge, despite Philadelphia's one cent price increase. Nolde cites material cost rises offset by distribution economies and higher volume, and contends the current prices will hold.

Door Left Open For Farther Negotiation
The American Federation of Labor presented terms to Jobin L. Lewis on his readmission to the AFL, allowing him to rejoin as he was but not as he is. The AFL would not recognize his right to organize workers beyond coal and coke until reaffiliation, while leaving room for further jurisdictional negotiations. Lewis seeks to reenter with District 50, expand into chemicals, railroads, construction, and other industries where coal is used, potentially reaching textiles and electrical power.
