State opens bids on Frederick County road projects

Bids totaling more than half a million dollars were submitted for four road improvement projects on state highways in Frederick County. The largest bid, $472 930, covers installing a six foot chain link fence along 15 miles of I 70 from Ijamsville to Bill Moxley Road. Other bids include $22 712 for landscaping at South Mountain rest areas atop I 70 and $140 298 75 to improve Hollow Creek culvert on US 40A. City Rejects Federal Busing Funds Proposal in Frederick

County panels mull water sewer map changes at hearing

At East Frederick Elementary School a joint hearing by the Planning and Metropolitan Commissions and the county Council of Governments reviewed proposed amendments to the county water and sewer map.
