Tarred and Feathered Couple Seized in Elkins Jail Outrage
In Elkins West Virginia masked men forced entry to the city jail early today seizing a man Peter Rims 57 and a girl Miss Sylvia Tingler 19 and covering them with tar and feathers on the outskirts of town. They ordered the pair to leave town but returned to jail later suffering minor effects. Investigators say six men took part and used a crowbar to pry open cell doors after finding no officer on duty.

Hauptmann Identified Again Near Lindbergh Home
In Flemington New Jersey on January 22 1935 state witnesses testified that Bruno Hauptmann was seen near the Lindbergh estate in February 1932 prior to the kidnapping and death of Charles A Lindbergh Jr. The trial also heard about the ransom ladder evidence and a plaster footprint cast claimed to dispute Hauptmanns guilt along with testimony from Mrs Elsie Whately confirming lights were on at the Lindbergh home the night of the crime.
