Harry Glenn Black, 76, Thurmont orchardist and longtime operator of Catoctin Mountain Orchard, died Monday January 19 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born March 6, 1921 in Thurmont, he founded the orchard in 1946 and held leadership roles in multiple horticulture groups. He was married to Helen Irene Hess Black since October 7, 1944.
