New Windsor Farmer Named MGPA President
Melvin Baile Jr. of Carroll County, who farms 800 acres of corn, wheat, barley, beans and hay, has been elected president of the Maryland Grain Producers Association. The MGPA, founded in 1969 with 300 members, focuses on policy, legislation and education on GMO and grain issues while keeping farmers profitable. Baile noted the group’s work in Annapolis and across Maryland to monitor laws, promote research and public understanding of grain production and biotech advances.
