Stay of judgment granted in New Windsor robbery case
Gene V. Haines pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods after the state dropped armed robbery charges tied to a Sept. 29, 1975 theft of under $100 from Maurice Devilbiss. Judge Samuel W. Barrick placed Haines on one year unsupervised probation, noting no prior record and his Army enlistment at Fort Hood. Frank D. Schneider, not involved in the robbery, provided the stolen money. The Alpha conclave of Kappa Kappa Iota hosted a meeting at Watson's restaurant with Dr. David Denton guest speaking on communication and youth issues.
