Three Hurt Near Lisbon in Maryland crash injuries
Three people from Galthersburg Route 2 were injured when a car collided with a fuel carrier one mile north of Lisbon at the Maryland 4 and U.S. 40 intersection. Os P. Sirk, 41, and his daughter Mary Jane Manning, 5, were treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and a broken leg respectively, while George Cephas, 72, suffered a compound fracture and lacerations. The crash was investigated by state trooper John W. Crout. Sirk was charged with failing to yield. The truck driver William Jantzen of Baltimore escaped unharmed.

Roger Geisbert of Frederick County filed with the Election Supervisors on Monday his candidacy for the Maryland House of Delegates in the Democratic primaries. A lifelong resident, he grew up on a Manchester farm, farmed in Creagerstown, later ran his Urbana area farm, and for three years has been superintendent of Montevue Hospital. He is the son of the late Hamilton R. Geisbert and brother of former Frederick County Commissioner Charles G. Geisbert.
