Commissioners Cut Roads Program in 1960 plan
An ideal but impossible roads program for 1960, costing 1 123 000, was presented to the County Commissioners by Jack Mause. They cut 45 000 from Federal Aid Roads and 30 000 from county force projects, with 32 900 of roads listed as tentative depending on funds. Mause explained the program would exceed the year’s budget by 83 500, and the commission trimmed to 619 000 in Federal and county funds, leaving 29 miles of roads and bridges to be built.
