PURELY PERSONAL, Mr. sod Mr. Frederick Alvey of Washington DC spent yesterday at Afra Arley’s parental home in Frederick. Martin Tobin of Massillon Ohio visits his sister Mrs Hollis. State Senator Frank Norwood returned to Frederick from Annapolis and spent yesterday in the city. Mr. C Francis Baughman came from Washington to visit his parents on East Second Street. Thomas Wolf left for Washington to enter the grocery business, with many friends in Frederick hoping for success. Miss Katya Bullivan and Nellye Bowers of Martinsburg WV toured Brunswick and returned home yesterday, leaving many friends regretful. Vincent Sebold of Frederick, who has been in Cincinnati on business, returned home today.
A January 16 social at Rey's Hall Pearl Street hosted by Mr W B Ray drew about a hundred guests. The evening featured a heavy smoking session, a grand supper with beef tongue, and speeches by Fred Notnagie Wellington Hammond Cornelion Mercer and others. The event boosted local social life and showcased Mr Ray as a leading citizen. Also described are a delightful children's party for Margaret Schley on East Patrick Street and a quilting party hosted by Mrs George Mider Emmitsburg on January 15 with several relatives in attendance.
