The Stars and Stripes by Harry Markham received its first stage production in York PA on January 7 and drew a derided hit with a patriotic tone. Critics praised its dramatic climaxes, comedy relief, and high audience enthusiasm. Gry Brothers Minstrels entertained with strong music and acts at the Opera House. The City Opera House will host another performance by a renowned company from Frederick tomorrow night.

Killed By a Falling Tree Near Olney
William Childs twenty one, of near Olney in Montgomery county, died after a timber felling accident on his father's farm. A falling tree struck him as he moved to safety, fracturing the skull. He was the son of Buck Childs, a farmer.
