Shortage of stenographers hits Maryland Assembly in January
In Annapolis on January 18, the Maryland General Assembly faces a keen shortage of stenographers as task-filled offices seek qualified typists and shorthand reporters. Female stenographers are in high demand, with counties wary of hires from outside. Notable appointees include Miss Lucy Dublitz and Miss Joanna Lest serving Senator McIntosh and Senator Norwood.
