Seat belt stop yields drug charge for Brunswick man
A Brunswick man was arrested on drug charges after a Wednesday traffic stop in Frederick for seat belt violations. Cpl. Tom Pare stopped the vehicle at 724 Pay and found a pipe used for smoking drugs and crack cocaine in the back seat. The suspect was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and jailed awaiting a bail hearing.

Boy dies from Saturday wreck injuries in Montgomery County
In Rockville a rear seat passenger 8-year-old Jonathan Qseibonsu of Bellyville died Monday from injuries from a January 12 crash on Columbia Pike. The driver Agatha Badu and another passenger Mathilda Num, both treated and released, were involved. Coffman, driver of the other car, was denied injuries and released. The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital before death.

A 37 year old Guilntaborg woman was arrested at Shady Grove Gym and Spa in Rockville and charged with prostitution. Police say a customer paid for a massage and extra money after sexual activity at the spa on Frederick Road. She is held on $1000 bail and faces misdemeanor penalties up to 400 dollars fine and one year in jail.

Shed Fire Damages Home Storage at Gapland Road
A shed fire at 2209 Gapland Road in Jefferson caused about $10,000 damage to the wood frame structure and contents owned by David Wolfe. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office reported a short in a rebria radio at a workbench started the blaze Wednesday afternoon. No injuries occurred as 25 firefighters extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes.

Frederick man pleads guilty to raping 12 year old girl
George J. Booth, 26, pleaded guilty to second-degree rape in Frederick County Circuit Court. The offense occurred in November 2000 after a party on Shookstown Road. He remains jailed awaiting sentencing in May.

Rape case against Frederick man sent to circuit court
The rape case against 35 year old Christopher Myers was sent to Frederick County Circuit Court on Wednesday. Myers faces 25 counts of second degree rape 49 counts of third degree sex offense child abuse and two counts of second degree sex offense. A district court proceeding heard testimony about incidents involving a girl dating from 1997 to 2001. Judge Janice Rodnick Ambrose found enough evidence to send the case up and refused to reduce bail keeping Myers held at the Frederick County Adult Retention Center. In a separate matter Frederick man Dunivs Waters admitted passing a bad check and taking another's property as his own. Waters bought a bicycle with a check and rented a carpet cleaner then failed to return it. Held since August he earned credit for 79 days and was ordered to pay restitution and placed on 18 months probation.
