Stage fog blamed for vocal problems in performers
In San Francisco stage fog exposure is blamed for vocal and respiratory issues among performers. A 52 year old singer reports coughing and fear of losing work as fog effects are cited in studies as potentially harmful. The Broadway pit orchestra reported asthma like effects and a lawsuit is pending. Audience reactions are noted and venues, including the San Francisco Opera, warn about effects while not legally required to disclose.
