Brunswick Area News Skaters Appointed At Local Ice Rink
The Brunswick Recreation Commission appointed high school juniors and seniors Tommy Dawson Clay Williams Ron Truitt Kendall Gordon Randy Fueler Marie Kerses Terry Carr and Larry Wand as volunteer skate guards for the town rink near the C and O Canal The rink awaits thick ice before opening and a posted warning will deter skating tests The commission plans free skate rentals over 5 pairs of skates and may supervise sledding areas with more volunteers sought Contact City Hall or Wayne Carter to volunteer.

Lions Observe Charter Night Observed by Union Bridge Club
Union Bridge Lions Club held its charter night at the Unit Bridge Firemen's Building on Tuesday evening. President Lian Sterling Wibwn chaired the gathering with two active charter members Charles Angell and Harry German present. Members from One Lions Clubs at New Windsor Tanevivan Westminster and Terra Rubra attended. Lester Groasnickle and Ed Wilbiar planned the program. Bevery Albaugh and Vivian Bowman performed duets while Tina Wetzel sang several songs. Thomas native of Union Bridge delivered the guest speech on What Can I Do and the event concluded with socializing.

Lifeguard Tests Announced For Hagerstown YMCA
The Maryland Park Service will hold practical and written lifeguard exams on Saturday February 9 at 6 00 p m at the Hagerstown YMCA.
