German Rearmament World Peace Menace at Hood College
Sir Herbert Ames of Canadian birth now living in the United States spoke at Hood College on the threat of German rearmament. He warned that Hitler’s aims include rectifying Germany’s borders and reclaiming lost colonies, while arguing peace offers mask expansionist goals. He cautioned that a large modern army could trigger a future war, with air combat posing the greatest danger to civilians. He later joined Hood students for an evening round table on Central Europe’s rest history and Central Europe tensions.
