Peace Plan Referendum Draws National Support
At the American Peace Award headquarters in New York a vast card video lists over 25 000 local groups aiding the Bok Peace Prize referendum. Miss Esther Everett Lape led a nationwide effort with 9 000 000 copies of the plan and ballots sent out and extensive newspaper magazine publication nationwide. The drive includes about 100 national organizations, living up to Bok’s prize goal of preventing war through broad civic engagement. The referendum runs through September 10 with potential World Court and League of Nations implications.
