Edward Fairfax Hartley of Lime Kiln died at Frederick City Hospital after a brief illness of bronchial pneumonia. Born October 16, 1876, he spent 38 years with M. J. Grove Lime Company and was active in Frederick Lodge 084, the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, and local fraternal circles. Survived by daughter Mrs Slugo Winter Halter and a granddaughter, two sisters, and nieces. Funeral at St John’s Catholic Church with interment Mt. Olivet cemetery.
