Rescuers Reach Plane Wreckage in Alaska
Anchorage AP report says rescuers reached the wreckage of a missing Mir Force Globemaster on an Alaskan glacier. Of nine aboard, only two survived as helicopters ferried a rescue team to the site near the Petrof glacier at 3,000 to 4,000 feet.

The Independents answered three fire calls yesterday afternoon within 45 minutes, two on opposite sides of town. A grass fire on Butterfly Lane behind Starlight Dance Hall burned about 20 minutes after a 22 pm call, costing about 1 dollar.
