Two Carroll County youths were caught after a car theft near Westminster led to a chase to Flat Rock Virginia. Two Brothers in Maryland Juvenile Court for Theft and Breakage
A 16 year old and his 11 year old brother appeared before Associate Judge Patrick M Schnauffer in juvenile court. The 16 year old was committed to the Maryland Training School for Boys after a second offense this year. The younger brother was placed on abeyance. They were accused of kicking a window and robbing a Texaco station on East Pat-Tick street December 20, stealing about 38, with some money used for pinball machines. The older youth previously faced a gang attempt in March and had no juvenile record. Their father in Hagerstown and mother employed at night. A 13 year old “broken home” case to appear later this day. The family’s residence shuffled between town and county.

Dennis Rites To Be Held Tuesday
Baltimore, Jan. 12. Judge Samuel K. Dennis, 78, longtime Maryland political figure and chief judge for the Supreme Bench of Baltimore, died after a heart attack. An Eastern Shoreman, he left the bench in 1944 after 16 years on it and had served as U.S. attorney in Baltimore, a House of Delegates member, and secretary to Gov. John Walter Smith. He helped found the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium and supported shifting Juvenile Court duties to the Supreme Bench. Burial is set for tomorrow at First Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.
