Americans Slain by Villa Bandits Near Paso Texas

Thomas B. Holmes, sole escapee, recounts massacre of nineteen or twenty Americans on a train halted near Chuuhuua, with bandits disrobing victims and shooting them along the railroad. Holmes fled, pursued by about fifteen men, reaching Chihuahua City after the attack. Bodies were later found mutilated.

Austria Denies Sinking Persia Inquiries Blame Not Submarines
