Volunteers spruce Kemptown Park with bluebird nests and trails
The Kemptown community park in Frederick County gains seven bluebird nests a sparrow hawk box a 20 foot falcon hawk perch and a new bulletin board thanks to Boy Scout Dave Weigelt Troop 1023 and fellow volunteers who logged over 150 hours. County funds supplied materials saving taxpayers hundreds. Additional projects include a half mile nature trail led by Kent Yingling and park services from FCC students 4H groups and Vo Tech classes. The effort expands with an amphitheater and a potential ice rink as recreation councils push community programs and facilities.
