New Transitional Care Unit opens at Frederick Memorial Hospital
A 20 bed Transitional Care Unit on the fourth floor of Frederick Memorial Hospital opens to care for patients stabilized after acute care or recovering from surgery. Led by FMH and Adventist Senior Living Services, the unit offers a home like environment with private rooms, three daily meals, and a 14 to 20 day average stay. It targets post op, cancer, fracture, and multi condition cases under Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

Frederick County Adult Detention Center staff received recognition from the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards for 100 percent compliance. The event featured local officials including Commissioners Terre Rhoderick and Ilona Hogan, Sheriff James Hagg, and others. The Banner School and ESCAPE partners announced holiday toy drives and a February Baby Bazaar and Yard Sale to aid the nonprofit, with drop points across Frederick.
