Red Cross Bloodmobile falls short of unit goal in Frederick drive
The Red Cross Bloodmobile visit at Amvets Post 2 Home Frederick on Tuesday Jan 2 collected 121 units from 129 donors with 8 deferred. 56 of 200 scheduled and 73 walk ins donated. director James A Grove praised the effort noting walk ins accounted for over 56 percent of registrations and listed organizational supporters and volunteers who aided the drive.

Oriental art sale at Hood College January 30
A special exhibition and sale of Oriental art will be held Monday January 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hood College Hudson Gallery Totem Arts Center. Marson Ltd of Baltimore presents about 500 pieces from Asia including eighteenth and nineteenth century prints, Chinese woodcuts and Indian miniatures with artists like Hiroshige Kuniyoshi Kunisada. modern works by Saito Azechi Mori Katsuda and Maki. A representative will answer questions while prints are shown in open portfolios for browsing. Prices vary widely.

The Utica Lutheran Women’s League met at the home of Mr and Mrs Paul Heffner with president Mrs Ronald Montgomery presiding. Officers elected for 1978 include Mrs Raymond Ediger vice president Mrs Kenneth Clingan secretary Mrs Paul Heffner treasurer Mrs J R Ramsburg Jr assistant treasurer and Mrs Edna Buhrman public relations. The program on the Apocrypha was explained by Mrs Ediger to 14 members. The group recalled former events and gifts were given to the sick and service members. Santa and a Christmas program with music followed, including readings, a playlet and a gift奉 delivery by Mrs Lucy Snyder.
