Miss Celeste O'Toole Weds G L Thomas In Buckeystown Church

Miss Celeste Maureen O'Toole of Thurmont married George Leicester Thomas I of Buckeystown at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in a lace and seed pearl gown with a chapel train. Officiating was Rev. John J. Hart. attendants included Sheila O'Toole and Mary Candee. Reception for about 150 followed at the American Legion Hall. couple to reside in Buckeystown.

Frederick County Pomona Grange to Sponsor Traffic School

The Frederick County Pomona Grange executive committee unanimously votes to sponsor a compulsory traffic school in the county. Magistrate Joseph J. Coady and Lt. W. W. Health officers urge quick doctor visits for possible Asian flu cases

Health officials warned the public to see physicians immediately for cold or influenza like symptoms. Doctors must report suspected Asian flu cases to the Health Department since patients cannot determine the specific strain. There have been no local Asian flu cases yet though outbreaks have appeared in Brownsville San Antonio Linden and Columbus. A seaweed-based substitute for whole blood for emergency transfusions was reported by Japanese surgeons as superior to saline or sugar water and researchers seek a plasma substitute for mass atomic attack survivors.
