Self evaluation begins Jan 26 with full compliance by Jan 26, 1993. She notes ramps are easy, but interior access and multi floor buildings pose challenges for doctors lawyers and offices. She urges building owners to obtain estimates and involve disabled persons in planning. About 15 percent of residents are affected, with recourse through the Justice Department or courts. Call the commission at 217-1246 or 217-1238 for questions.
