School construction chief given prison term fired
ANNAPOLIS AP Alford R Skip Carey was sentenced to three years in prison for stealing 22105 from the Maryland public school construction agency he headed before suspension by Gov Mandel last July. He received two three year concurrent terms after pleading guilty to two counts. 49 counts were dropped. He admitted forging a 22103 bill from R and M Erectors but maintained other alleged thefts. Carey will begin the sentence next week and is eligible for parole in nine months. Mandel fired him after his conviction.
