First Black Frostburg graduate earns Alumni Achievement Award
Leon Brumback, a 1958 Frostburg State University trailblazer and former North Hagerstown High School social studies teacher, received the Alumni Achievement Award. He says his success came from support he received and a drive to give back, while his early college path began with help from local educators and scholarships.

Confederate flag dispute continues in Cumberland

Michael Mudge heads a new Heritage Preservation Association chapter aiming to reverse what they call erasing history. City officials say only government flags will be displayed in the rotunda.
