Three Charges Filed Against Hubert Holter

Hubert Holter of near Myersville faces three counts assault with intent to maim attempted burning and malicious destruction of property. Deputy Noah P. Gernand arrested him Tuesday afternoon, with the disturbance occurring at Mrs. Susan Shank’s home near Myersville. Walter remains jailed on a $1,000 bond awaiting a Peoples Court hearing likely Monday.

In Annapolis on January 9 Governor Harry Whinna Nice took the oath at 12.01 pm, becoming Maryland’s ninth chief executive and ending Albert C. Ritchie’s fifteen year tenure. The Maryland Senate unanimously confirmed Thomas L. Dawson of Montgomery County as Secretary of State after the oath.

Malloy Resigns as Mount St Marys Coach at Emmitsburg

Arthur H. Malloy has resigned his post as director of athletics and football, basketball and baseball coach at Mt. St. Marys College in Emmitsburg. The Baltimore Evening Sun reports the resignation was accepted by the college but takes effect after the current school year ends in June. Malloy will remain at the college as steward.
