The Accu Weather forecast for Thursday predicts a band of precip with snow in Vermont New Hampshire parts of Massachusetts and upstate New York changing to ice in New York and parts of Pennsylvania Rain is expected from western New York through northern Virginia with showers to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana Rain also forecast in northwest Washington and in parts of Texas and the Southwest Western Maryland counties see increasing afternoon clouds highs mid 40s tonight rain possible after midnight freezing rain in valleys. Thursday cloudy with showers likely highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Extended outlook fair and cooler Friday and Saturday with rising coastal & valley temperatures and overnight lows in the 20s to 30s.

Two plead guilty in Frederick County credit card scam
Two of four defendants charged in a July credit card scam in Frederick County Circuit Court pleaded guilty on Tuesday. John Peters of Houston admitted to conspiracy to commit theft and Kenneth Coker of Brooklyn, NY pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit credit card theft. The other two defendants await disposition. Police stopped the suspects at a Farmers and Mechanics National Bank branch on Thomas Johnson Drive after they requested a cash advance. Coker fled on foot but was pursued by eight patrol cars toward U.S. 15. Sentencing for Peters and Coker is scheduled for next month.

Kenannie Edwards, 25, of Manhattan N Y, received 20 years with four years to serve and three years probation after pleading to 35 crack cocaine racks found May 9 at John Hanson Apartments. Michael G Dixon, 26, of Washington D C, was sentenced to three years in the Department of Correction with time served, for distribution charges related to his arrest April 13 at John Hanson Apartments.
