Western explorers reach Tibetan Hid den Falls on Tsangpo river
Western geographers sponsored by the National Geographic Society reached the long sought Hid den Falls in Tibet’s Tsangpo gorge, a 100 to 115 foot cataract once rumored by Tibetan hunters and Buddhist monks. Ken Storm Jr. led the team with Lan Baker and Hamid Sarder, noting the falls’ dramatic, secluded spot and that earlier 1924 expeditions missed the feature.
