Four to five inches of wet snow blanketed Frederick County causing few accidents and many snowmen. Police reported no serious crashes, minor fender-benders, and brief power issues. Schools stayed open and the Braddock Heights Skiway was open with excellent conditions as police logged multiple minor incidents.

Derailment halts Baltimore main line near Reel's Mill Road
A freight train derailed on the Baltimore & Ohio Old Main Line shortly before 6 am near Reel's Mill Road. Three derailed locomotives pulled the caboose and three loaded cars, with a flagman hurt and taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for observation.
