Population boom eyed for Frederick County 1980
Frederick County officials and residents face big growth ahead as the 1980 census could show about 40,000 more people. John H. Larsen of Potomac Edison outlined trends from Washington northward and into Frederick, noting rising industry and government plants. He urged cooperation among agencies, updated land use plans, and planned communities to manage growth. A new sewer and water funding policy shifts costs to developers, and officials plan a meeting with Brosius, Rolling Acres, and Thurmont leaders to align growth strategies.
