Annual Dinner Marks BBLE Class Meeting at Church
The 14th anniversary of the Men's Bible class at Evangelical Reformed Church was celebrated with a banquet for about 150 attendees. Dr. Henry I Sisher of Hood College spoke on planning for the year, with Rev. Dr. Henri L. G. Kieffer offering remarks. Music by David Hagan and Spey Storm highlighted the program organized by E. D. Lariner’s committee.

First Baptist Church Adults Hold December Meeting
The adult Sunday school departments at First Baptist Church met on December 29 at 7 30 pm. H H Ewing led devotionals and the hymn Bring Them In was sung. Mrs Elsie Bussard presided over the T E L class with prayer by Mrs Helen Bartgis.

Wolf killing pays in Minnesota in 1937
State Auditor Stafford reports wolf killing paid 43628 dollars in 1937. King paid 15 dollars per head for full grown wolves and 6 dollars each for cubs. Two wolves were killed near Minneapolis and St. Paul. Microfilm equipment is used by the census bureau to copy population records back to 1790.

Queer eruptions may result from skin sensitivity to drugs
Dr Morris Fishbein notes rising reports of skin eruptions from drug sensitivities. Examples include reactions to salicylic acid in a syphilis treatment and lacquer in hairpins triggering scalp itching. Removal of lacquered pins led to rapid improvement.
Sheriff Shipley III Returns to Carroll County Jail Residence
Sheriff John A. Shipley, recovering from a heavy cold and laryngitis at home in Sykes, has returned to the Carroll County jail residence but has not fully recovered his speech. Walden Pond near Concord, Mass., is noted for its fame from Henry David Thoreau's writings.

Testimony In Garrett Case In 33 Volumes
In Philadelphia the Garrett fortune case advances with 33 volumes of testimony, seeking a legal heir to the 520 million snuff estate of Henrietta E. Garrett who died in 1930 leaving only 62 500 by will. Master William M. Damm notes 20 000 claims from worldwide claimants and says the full transcript costs attorneys or claimants 1 188 dollars at 36 dollars per volume. In a recent session Frederick Langsdorf, 81, testified he carried a message in Philadelphia to Christopher Schaefer, Mrs Garretts father, from a German nephew identified as Peter Schaefer of Bad Nauheim, a place tied to the Garretts origin.
