Waste forum builds Maryland solid waste accord and civic ties
An eight to ten hour forum in Baltimore produced The Maryland Solid Waste Planning Accord with 24 participants from environmental groups business and government. The plan advocates 50 percent recycling by 2000 volume based per can billing liners for rubble fills and private sector involvement. A separate Mount Airy ribbon cutting marks the January 8 opening of the new Mount Airy Library and Senior Citizen Center offering a 72 000 book capacity and 118 parking spaces.
