Savings banks and the path to wealth via compounding
The article cites Baron de Rothschild’s fame and notes that savings banks lure with the promise of wealth through regular deposits. Investment adviser John Winthrop Wright argues a diligent, prudent investor can reach substantial sums, potentially $1 million by 65 on 25-year plans, though tax and emergencies temper returns. It outlines realistic expectations of 8-10 percent long term gains and upholds core investing principles: buy quality stocks, buy when undervalued, avoid declines, and sell before prices stop rising.
