Three-Month Terms For Two Baltimore Negroes In Police Court
In Frederick County Maryland two Baltimore youths received three month terms in the House of Correction for unauthorized use of an automobile after a session marked by postponements and witness failures. Separately, two Frederick County defense workers were found guilty of stealing grain sacks valued at $18 from Rayhugh Delauter near New Market. The cases involved lengthy hearings, transfers, and pauses due to illness and other duties of officials. State’s Attorney Storm warned of a jury trial if delays continued.

Judge Clark Slams Law On Duck Blind Rights In Maryland
In Annapolis on January 5 Associate Judge James Clark condemned the duck blind licensing law as badly drawn ambiguous and contradictory. He granted an injunction preventing Charles C Myers from building a duck blind within 400 yards of Dr John C Joyce’s on the Magothy River, noting Joyce held a license before October 10 while Myers did not. The decision questioned the law’s 500 yard precedence rule and urged the State Game Department to restrict licenses to owners or lessees. Also, Mary M Carroll was granted an absolute divorce from Howard G Carroll in Equity Court, with costs assigned to Carroll.
