Jitterbug lore and the Arbogast lure’s rise in fishing
The Jitterbug, created by Akron tackle maker Fred Arbogast about 30 to 40 years earlier, evolved from cedar bodied lures with aluminum faces to plastic faces during WWII. Today 14 models and 25 color patterns exist, including a new rattling clicker model, with a history of performance and enduring appeal among anglers.
