League critical of Home Rule proposals in Maryland
The League of Women Voters condemns a Frederick County Board and Maryland Commissioners Association plan for county home rule, arguing it would cede full code authority to commissioners and block later government changes. They urge a constitutional convention in 1970 and support a preparatory study commission. They back a campaign finance reform package and stricter election provisions.
