Rickey Warns Pro Football Could Hurt Baseball
New York reports Branch Rickey fears pro football may outlive baseball and foresees many leagues failing. He notes baseball's wartime losses and midweek attendance drops, while pro football benefits from weekend games. He doubts a six month season and says for now baseball should worry Rickey, not fans, about the future.
