She has served as a Camp Meade hostess since December 1941 and will be an assistant program director at a service men’s club upon assignment. She resigned Camp Meade and will travel to Frederick Friday. On the day she handed in her resignation her appointment as head hostess at a camp near Norfolk, Virginia, was confirmed.

Former Residents Here Are Seriously Injured
Mr and Mrs John Grantland of Baltimore formerly of Frederick remain in critical condition at South Baltimore General Hospital after a Christmas night crash involving seven passengers and a street car. Mrs Grantland sustained a fractured pelvis a crushed chest and seven arm fractures while Mr Grantland suffered a crushed chest and collarbone injuries. The car occupants except the Grantlands and a baby were uninjured. The street car struck the vehicle leading edge near a pole. Court charges were filed against Mr Grantland for reckless driving.
