Schools allow teen parents to ride buses with kids on route

The board revised transportation rules enabling teen parents to bring their children to daycare or a babysitter along existing bus routes. The change aims to reduce dropout rates and ease access to county services. The board also created a 13 member Technology Advisory Committee with area residents, staff, and a data processing representative to guide tech use in schools and budget priorities. Green Valley Elementary was praised for a smoke free policy since 1987, as the board encourages other schools to follow suit.
