Death toll sign to stay until highway project ends
Resthaven Memorial Gardens president Richard F. Cody says the “death toll” sign on U S 15 will stay up until the highway dualization project is officially finished. The 41 fatalities since 1976 are listed on the 100 square foot sign, erected in 1981 to urge safer driving amid the dangerous corridor. Cody plans a spring tearing-down ceremony and may replace the sign with an electronic warning of road conditions if funds allow.
