War Interpreted By Elton Fay Analysis on Fronts
The Soviet armies drive toward the Polish border and push west in southern sectors while American and British forces in Italy battle house to house fighting. Terrain, weather, and strategic factors shape defenses on the 1,800 mile Russian front. Italy shows roughly equal forces with limited rapid reserves. Colonel Stovall argues against a calendar campaign, favoring steady, low-cost actions over hurried objectives.
