Despondent after news a closed stock bank near Munith Michigan would pay only 1 percent to depositors Mrs Mary Mayer age 49 or 50 and her seventeen year old daughter Emma died after Mrs Mayer consumed carbolic acid. Emma died fourteen hours later in convulsions from the shock of finding her mother dying.
Representative Brumm introduced a Coxey backed bill to issue non-interest bearing twenty five year bonds for public works. Funds would hire idle men and women at 1.50 daily, eight hour days, with Treasury notes redeemable at four percent. Roosevelt and Coxey held first known discussion on finance and land waterways.

Reubenville reports five perfectly formed children born to George Campbell and his wife. Three infants died within an hour. one boy and one girl are expected to live. Total weight of the five newborns is twenty three pounds. Physicians call the case remarkable. Campbell is a mill worker with four brothers. two other brothers have twins and the others are fathers of triplets. The mother’s prior marriage produced triplets.
