Raises for Frederick County officials approved in Annapolis
The House of Delegates enacted four local bills lifting salaries for county officials in Frederick. Salaries rise for the five county commissioners, sheriff, treasurer, election board, and orphan's court judges, with new pay set on reappointment or reelection. The county liquor board gains larger salaries, and the old jail on South Street will become a home for the poor via the Frederick Union Rescue Mission while remaining available for detox. A Quality Inn liquor license hurdle is cleared through a three-member partnership license arrangement.
