Rent Control Bill Signed in Key West Florida
President Truman signed a stopgap rent control bill extending protections to April 3 and another measure sustaining the Maritime Commission’s authority to sell and operate ships through March 1, 1949. He urged Congress to revise the laws, and noted that a provision restricting foreign nationals from chartering war-built vessels was not desirable. An additional courier-delivered package will bring Civil Service retirement and export control bills. A separate note outlines a Rocky Springs Union church musical program this Sunday afternoon with local participants.
